Beth Wagner

Beth graduated from Geneva College. She is a certified elementary and middle school math teacher with a graduate degree in Library Science from Clarion University. She has worked with kids for the past 15 years as both a preschool and middle school math teacher, camp counselor, relief houseparent at a private school, Girl Scout Leader, and most recently a youth services librarian, where she led over 70 story times each year.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Beth now resides in Central Pennsylvania with her husband Chris and their two sons and daughter. In her spare time Beth loves visiting libraries, reading, finding bargains, experimenting with new recipes, creating art with her kids, being outside, drinking coffee, and coming up with new ideas!

Chris Wagner

Chris has a degree in Youth Ministry from Geneva College and has worked for the non-profit The Center for Parent/Youth Understanding for 12 years. He currently serves as their Media and Research Specialist. He also studied Math and Statistics while at college. He has worked with kids for the past 15 years in various roles including camp counselor, youth group leader, relief houseparent at a private school, and as a volunteer at his church.

With roots in western New York, he met Beth in 6th grade where they were crowned the boys and girls chess champions at Evans City Elementary. In his spare time Chris enjoys running, hiking, being outdoors, exploring with his three energetic kids, watching and playing sports, cheering for the New York Yankees, and finding ways to keep Beth’s ideas in check!


Jennifer MaryniakJennifer Maryniak

Jennifer graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Elementary and Kindergarten Education. In addition, she has a graduate degree in Educational Development and Strategies from Wilkes University. She has worked with kids for almost 20 years as a colorguard instructor, preschool assistant, child care teacher, substitute, and most recently, a 6th grade classroom teacher.

Originally from Berks County, Jennifer currently resides in Lititz with her husband and two sons. She is a busy stay-at-home mom, but makes time to read, dance, practice yoga, go out to eat, and serve as treasurer of the Eastern Region of the Pennsylvania Association for Middle Level Education.

Jessica GoodJessica Good

Jessica graduated from Alvernia College with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. In addition, she has a Master of Science in Education from Wilkes University. Before deciding to become a stay-at-home mom, she was a classroom teacher for twelve years, teaching everything from eighth grade Earth Science to sixth grade math, and even spent a few years working with small groups of gifted students. For the last 15 years, Jessica has been a part of the Pennsylvania Association for Middle Level Education, currently serving as the President of the East Region board.

Jessica has lived in Lancaster County her entire life, growing up in the Leola area where she went to elementary school with the boy she would later marry! She currently resides in Mount Joy with her husband Don, son Benjamin, and daughter Jordyn. Jessica is a busy stay-at-home mom, not only working as a GO STEAM! instructor, but she is also the leader of the mom’s group at her church, a Sunday school teacher, a Meals on Wheels volunteer driver, a private tutor, and a volunteer in both of her kid’s schools. Jessica loves to try new things, enjoys camping and hiking, and having adventures with her family and friends.

Rob Shoaff - Medium

Rob Shoaff

Mr. Shoaff is the Teen Expression Center-Harrisburg (TECH) Coordinator at the Neighborhood Center. With masters degrees in architecture and urban design from M.I.T., Rob meshed his passion of cities, sociology and the built environment into the classroom to help inspire and challenge student’s creativity. The combined 10+ years in professional practice and the 5+ years in teaching college (HACC) and high school vocational education (Pathways TECH), allowed Rob to hone in on the benefits of service based learning. He has taught in the subject areas of Architectural Design, CADD, 3D modeling, Scratch Programming, Film Making, Video Game Design, MakeyMakey, and littleBits electronics.

Originally from New Kingstown PA, Rob lives with his wife, two daughters, two cats and a dog in Midtown Harrisburg.

Teamwork and creativity are important to us but safety is always a priority.

All GO STEAM! staff maintain current Act 151 (child abuse) clearance, Act 34 (criminal record) clearance, and federal criminal history background check. All staff have completed Mandated Reporter Training. Beth & Chris are both trained in Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid, CPR, & AED. Beth is also trained in Anaphylaxis and Epinephrine Auto-Injector through the American Red Cross.
